🔒 Short version: UtiliTrack collects no personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device. Nothing is ever sent anywhere.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how UtiliTrack ("the app", "we") handles information when you use our Android application. UtiliTrack is a personal utility bill tracker that helps households monitor electricity, water, and gas usage and costs.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app stores, where it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information. UtiliTrack does not require account registration, does not connect to the internet, and does not transmit any data to any server — including our own.

The app does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting tools, or any third-party services that could collect data about you.

3. Data You Enter Into the App

Meter readings, bill amounts, and usage figures that you enter are stored in a local SQLite database on your device only. This data:

Never leaves your device
Is never transmitted to any server or third party
Is never shared with the developer or anyone else
Is deleted when you uninstall the app or use the in-app clear function

4. App Permissions

UtiliTrack requests two Android permissions:

POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Used solely to deliver local, on-device reminders prompting you to submit a new meter reading. These notifications are generated and displayed entirely on your device. No notification content or metadata is sent to any server.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Used to reschedule pending local notifications after your device restarts. No data is read, stored externally, or transmitted as a result of this permission.

The app does not request internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage permissions.

5. Third-Party Services

UtiliTrack does not integrate any third-party services. There are no:

Analytics or tracking SDKs (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel)
Advertising networks
Crash reporting services
Cloud sync or backup services
Social login providers

6. Data Security

Because all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted, your data is protected by your device's own security mechanisms (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a screen lock to protect your locally stored information.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store any data about you on external systems, there is no data held by us to access, correct, export, or delete. You have full control over all data stored in the app — you can delete individual entries or clear all data at any time from within the app's settings.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or California, these rights apply to any personal data a controller holds about you. As we hold none, no further action is required on our part.

8. Children's Privacy

UtiliTrack is suitable for all ages. The app does not collect any personal data from any user, including children. There is no age restriction on using the app.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this Privacy Policy, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
